David Devine, Director
David B. Devine B.A. (University of Toronto), MFA (UCLA), is President and CEO of Devine Entertainment. The company specializes in the production of children's, youth and family film and television programming and is publicly traded headquartered in Toronto. David has directed 12 films and produced 19 for HBO Original Programming garnering 12 EMMY nominations (5 EMMY awards) and over 110 international awards of excellence. His productions have been broadcast in over 50 countries. David has extensive experience in sales and marketing to families with young children. David also has expertise in bringing small companies into public markets together with required financing.
Matt Dion, Director
Matt is CEO of publicly traded Meridex Software Corporation. He was previously VP Marketing at Apparent Networks, responsible for all marketing and product management functions. Brought in by the CEO to help grow the company, he helped move the company into the lucrative VoIP market and grow revenues by more than 50% year over year. Prior to joining Apparent Networks, Matt spent 10 years at Crystal Decisions helping grow the company from a 60-person startup selling developer tools, to the fastest growing enterprise software company in the world with more than 1,600 employees and USD$300 million in revenues. During his time at Crystal, Matt was intimately involved in the partnering strategy and wore several hats including: strategic alliances, business development, public relations, analyst relations, product marketing, product management, and Vice-President of Sales. The company was acquired by Business Objects for approximately USD$1.2 Billion. Matt was also a member of the Board of Vancouver-based ActiveState when it was acquired by Sophos for $23M in 2003. Matt holds a university degree in Business Administration and Psychology, from Simon Fraser University, British Columbia and is a member of BC Technology Social Ventures Partners.
Bijan Sanii, Director
Bijan has a twenty year history as a technology industry executive and is currently the CEO of Inetco. Prior to joining Inetco, Bijan was Executive Chair at UB Video, one of the key enabling technologies for Video over IP. He provided leadership and guidance that culminated in the acquisition of the company by Scientific Atlanta (now Cisco). Prior to UB Video, Bijan joined Infowave Software in 1997. As General Manager of the Imaging Division, he successfully led a restructuring of the business and generated a record operating profit in 1998. He was later appointed Infowave's Chief Operating Officer and CEO where he worked on InfoWave's IPO and inking strategic partnership agreements with Intel Corp, Compaq Computer Corporation, and other technology industry leaders.
Bijan currently serves on the Board of Directors for NewMedia BC and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). He was born in London and graduated with honours from the Polytechnic of Central London with a B.A. in Economics.
