Last updated October 22, 2007

At Calgoo Software ("CS"), we recognize that privacy is your right and that you care about how your information is used. We promise to respect your privacy and always be forthright with how we use the information we collect. In addition, should we ever request information from you, we will make every effort to openly communicate our intended use of the information. This policy, and our operating philosophy, is to only collect personally identifiable information that is essential to provide you with the many benefits of our products and services. Our products and services are designed to be 'opt-in' and require your express consent to their use. We also believe that at anytime you reserve the right to change your mind and can opt-out from communications or interaction with our products and services except for messages about your account or other selective information we deem essential pertaining to the availability of our products and services.

If you have any question concerning this policy, feel free to write or e-mail us at info@calgoo.com or 210 - 111 Water St., Vancouver, BC, V6B 1A7, Canada.

What this Privacy Policy covers

This privacy policy pertains to the use of the Calgoo Web site, any sub-domains to the Calgoo Web site, and the Calgoo products and services (as described at www.calgoo.com). The policy covers how CS collects information, the type of information collected, and our intended use for the information. This policy also addresses how to communicate with CS with respect to the information we collect.

Information we collect and how we use it

Web-site visitors

For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes the visitor's domain name. We also use analytical software to collect aggregate information on our users, including geographic locations, visits by new and returning visitors, referring links/domains, language used, and browser preferences.

The information we collect from our Web site visitors is used to improve the content of our Web page, used to customize the content and/or layout of our page for each individual visitor, and used in aggregate by ourselves to help refine our marketing efforts. We may in the future share aggregate information with other organizations for commercial purposes. No personally-identifiable information for our Web site visitors will be shared.

Calgoo Users

In order to deliver our products and services to our users, we need to collect certain information. This may include the user's e-mail address (required to e-mail an authentication key) as well as other registration information, including a username and password. Should a user wish to take advantage of many of the features and benefits that Calgoo provides, including notifications of relevant events, a user may be asked to disclose additional, personally-identifiable information to help us customize the application (e.g., postal code is required to incorporate local weather into a user's Calgoo application).

Should a user opt-in to receive such services, CS may help customize relevant messages based on targeting technology it uses and develops. The last thing that CS wants is for any of its relevant messages to be construed as junk mail. Should you find that the relevancy is not to your desired level of detail or decide that you do not wish to receive additional communications from us, you are free to ask us to stop sending you these messages.

CS may work with other commercial entities to generate relevant events and communicate these to users. Though CS may disclose aggregate information about our users to these third-party entities, at no time will any personally-identifiable information be disclosed without a user's explicit permission.

We may from time to time contact our users to gather feedback and information to allow us to improve and enhance our products and services and offer new products, updates and promotions. You can opt out of receiving these communications at any time.

CS may also collect information from our users containing the personally-identifiable information of their "contact list". This includes a contact's name and e-mail address. This information will be used to transmit event notifications and application invitation notices to these contacts as requested by the user. We will always disclose to the sender all information that is transmitted. Though this information, as collected, may be used to facilitate user-to-user interaction, this information will not be transmitted to any third-party. Calgoo will also not use this information to solicit your contacts without your knowledge and consent.

Sharing calendars and events

You may use our services to share calendars between yourself and another person or persons. You may also choose to publish your calendar to the general public or group. In choosing to share your calendar, you may be disclosing information about the events that exist on the calendar as well as other information (e.g., the time/date when the calendar was created and the user who created the calendar). Additional personal information, including the information stored within an event itself, may be deduced by those viewing the calendar. CS cautions users that the publishing of a calendar is undertaken at your own risk and that we are not responsible for the dissemination of the information contained within this calendar beyond those to whom you initially intended.

Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information that the Calgoo web site may send to a user's computer's hard drive through their browser. Cookies are used to provide us with additional knowledge about your Web site visit as identified above. Cookies may also be used to improve the quality of service that we provide and store users' preferences and log-in details.

Most Web browsers will provide details on how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Note: cookies may be required to receive features and services offered by CS, services that may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

Editing and deleting account information

Upon request we provide site visitors with access to unique identifier information (e.g., customer number or password) that we maintain about them, communications that the consumer/visitor has directed to our site (e.g., e-mails, customer inquiries), contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number) that we maintain about them, and/or a description of information that we maintain about them.

Furthermore upon request, we offer visitors the ability to have inaccuracies corrected in their contact information, unique identifiers, and communications that the user/visitor has directed to the site. Users can access this information or ask to have this information corrected by sending us e-mail at the above address or writing to us at the above address.

If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending us e-mail at info@calgoo.com.

External linking and third-party sites

Both the Calgoo software applications and the Calgoo Web site may contain links that will let a user visit the Web site of a third-party company. Linked websites are not under the control or influence of Calgoo and it is up to each user to investigate the privacy policy of each site prior to disclosing any additional information. CS accepts no responsibility or liability for these other websites.

Information sharing and disclosure

Should Calgoo become involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

It may be necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of CS's Terms of Use (including hacking into the Calgoo servers), or as otherwise required by law. Calgoo may be complied by court order to share personally identifiable information as part of an authorized law enforcement investigation and will respond as so ordered.

Storage of your information and information security

Your personal information is stored both in our Calgoo products and on the Calgoo servers operated by CS.

With respect to security: We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site. We restrict access to personal information to our employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop, or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Children

Calgoo is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, you may not submit information about yourself to Calgoo.

Changes to this Privacy Policy and unanticipated use

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If there are any significant changes to how we handle personal information we will update the Privacy Policy on our web site.

If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our Web site periodically.

If you feel that CS is not following its stated information policy, you may contact us at the above address or contact your local consumer protection office.
