Jeff, Economist USA |
"The product works fantastically!! It is so easy to sync with
Google Calendar. I recommended it to everyone at work. I no longer
have to be online to update my appointments. The program is simple to
use and very cost effective. Thanks so much." |

Joe, System Administrator California |
"Calgoo steps in and created a way to share calendar data in
both directions using Google Calendar and their servers as the
repository. This is very useful and amazing that both tools can be
used for free (or $30 for the Pro level of Calgoo). Compared to the
cost of licenses for Outlook and the cost of buying and maintaining a
calendar server, it's quite a deal." |

"Calgoo also works online, as well as offline, but it is not its own
Web application. It takes the open APIs of the more popular
calendaring applications and allows users to sync them with other
members of their family, friends, and coworkers. It works specifically
with Outlook, iCal, and Google calendar." |

Office 2.0 vendors want to exploit Microsoft
Office, not overthrow it
"Calgoo's hook is that it serves as a sort of 'supercalendar,' letting
users integrate their schedules from desktop applications at work
running on Outlook and Lotus Notes with the shared Web-based calendars
they use at home, such as Google Calendars." |

Calgoo releasing Version 1.0 this week
"DownloadSquad has covered
Calgoo since its inception,
and followed its progress along the way. It's all grown up now, and
ready to get out of beta and help users keep calendar schedules clean
and uncluttered." |

How to connect and stay organized
"The panel of judges, from Salesforce.com, Google and First Round
Capital, was tough. Calgoo was the favorite, though not
overwhelmingly, because it had the most distinct audience. But the
judges all professed disliking that each product required a download.
Are downloads history, the audience wondered? No, but it's a barrier
if you haven't yet proven the value of your product. Not everyone is
Skype, they cautioned. Judges also wanted to see a mobile element,
which for now is a goal for the three companies listed, but not yet a
reality."

Multi-Calendar Misery?
"It works. And for me, that's the really big news. I've tried lots of
different ways to get information back and forth from Google to
Outlook to Calendar before now - as well as every other web calendar
available. They have all been painful. And they didn't work properly." |

Calgoo - calendar beta starts today
"Calgoo officially launched their beta calendar sharing program today.
Download Squad reviewed their second draft last October and while
positive on the whole, we thought there were some key missing features
like synchronization with Google calendar, Microsoft Outlook and iCal.
Well, it looks like the folks at Calgoo have fixed that, enhanced
speed, and added these features as well..."

Under the Radar - Office 2.0 Conference
"My winner in this category is Calgoo, a Google Calendar companion
that will sync with a number of other sources such as Exchange
Calendaring, and also allows offline access and synchronization. A
very impressive interface, and as one of the judges said, one that
scores high points for 'something I want to buy and use.'"

Calgoo
"Calgoo synchronizes with iCal, Outlook, and your online Google
Calendar with the push of a button. I don't have a Mac (I love 'em,
but I don't own one yet), and I don't care for Outlook or Google
Calendar's interface, but I really enjoy the idea of having my data
online where I can access it anywhere. With Calgoo on my Linux
machine, I've got an efficient interface and the freedom of online
access of my events." |

22 Software Companies You Could Learn From
"So I have a question for you. What do longjump, Proto, Teqlo, Calgoo,
Tungle, System One, blogtronics, Cogenz and Stikkit have in common?
They're all companies you've probably never heard of. They're also
companies you may want to learn about since they're all about the
current state of the Internet and each are carving out a product or
service niche you may also have never thought of." |
