June 11th, 2008 - Version 1.9.3
Reminders - A number of issues with reminders have been resolved with this release. The snooze behavior has been modified to allow for a more natural use and now you can alter your snooze times even when Calgoo Calendar does not have focus.
Limited Time Frame Synchronization Speed - Limited Time Frame Synchronization Speed
June 3rd, 2008 - Version 1.9.1
This is a Mac OS release only
Fixed Apple iCal events deleted when using a synchronization time frame - Users who completely synchronized an Apple iCal calendar with Calgoo Calendar and then modified the synchronization time frame settings in preferences saw events outside of that time frame automatically deleted. This issue has been resolved in this release.
May 29th, 2008 - Version 1.9.0
Synchronization by date range - You can now determine the time frame of the events to be synchronized. Do this by accessing the Synchronization Time Frame settings in Preferences. This feature allows you to update events only in the time frame that matters the most. By using a smaller time frame, synchronization should complete faster, especially with larger calendars.
Improved Event Duplication Removal - If automatic event duplication removal is enabled, a Cleanup Calendar will be performed when adding a new calendar or sync source. Users will see a vast improvement in the number of removed duplicates, especially when adding new sync sources.
Removal of Mac firewall messages - Mac OS users are no longer be prompted to allow Calgoo Calendar to access the internet.
Faster addition of Apple iCal calendars - Mac OS users adding new Apple iCal calendars to Calgoo Calendar should see a very significant improvement in speed when listing the available iCal calendars using the "Add Calendar Wizard."
KNOWN ISSUES:
Timezone Related Problems:
- It is strongly recommended that Calgoo Calendar users do not change their timezone settings in Windows or Mac OS at this time. There is an issue which may cause event times to save with an incorrect timezone.
- There are a number of timezones which do not work properly when synchronizing with Google calendar. More information about this issue can be found here and its bug report.
- Some timezones may cause Apple iCal users to see all day events shifted by one day
Apple iCal - Reminders are not synchronized with Apple iCal due to incompatibilities between Calgoo Calendar reminders and iCal. Additionally, attendees without email addresses are synchronized, but cannot be displayed in Calgoo Calendar. The simultaneous use of other sync products might cause delays.
Vista and Outlook - Due to the security in Vista, Calendar cannot establish a connection to Outlook for synchronization or creating a new calendar unless both Calendar and Outlook are running with the same permissions. A fix for users can be found here.
30 Boxes Synchronization - 30 Boxes does not support all of the elements of an event that Calgoo Hub Plugin supports. Only event summaries, descriptions, time, tags, and location can be synchronized. Invitations can be modified in other calendar applications, but cannot be updated to 30 Boxes. Additionally, 30 Boxes does not support all forms of recurrence, so some recurring events may not be displayed properly in 30 Boxes. Accept/Decline status for invitations cannot be synchronized to 30 Boxes, so changes made to Accept/Decline status in 30 Boxes may not appear in your other Calgoo Hub Calendar.
No Multiple Reminders - Google Calendar supports multiple reminders at different intervals, but Calgoo does not. When synchronizing events from Google; if the event contains more than one reminder, only the first one is synchronized.
Different handling of recurring events - For a recurring event with a start date being a Monday but set to occur every Tuesday, Google Calendar counts the first Monday as one of the occurrences, but Outlook Calendar does not. Calgoo Calendar currently follows the behaviour in Google Calendar.
Syncing back causes Attendees' events duplication - If you synchronize calendar Google1 with Outlook1, and then synchronize Outlook1 with Google2, your event's attendees will be invited again, thus duplicating the event in their Google Calendar. This is due to a design incompatibility with Google Calendar. To prevent your attendees from seeing these duplicated events, you may ask them to switch off the automatically add invitations to my calendar option in Google Calendar.
Attendees cannot modify recurring events - In Outlook Calendar, changes made to an existing recurring event in which you are an attendee, but not the author, will not synchronize properly to Google Calendar. This does not affect any other events. This is due to a server side defect on Google Calendar.
Modifications in Calendar may not be recognized - Modifications to events during synchronization in Calgoo Calendar may not be updated to external sync sources. It is recommended that you do not modify, create, or delete events during synchronization.
Apple iCal 3.0.3 Recurring Event Sync
Users who have upgraded Apple iCal to version 3.0.3, which was included in the Mac OS 10.5.3 update, might experience some synchronization problems with Apple iCal.
- Recurring events with exceptions may not synchronize properly.
- Synchronizing an Apple iCal calendar with Google may fail when the Google calendar contains invited recurring events with exceptions.
Mac Java 6 Incompatibility
Calgoo Calendar is not currently compatible with Java 6 for the Mac which was included in the Mac OS 10.5.3 update. If Calgoo Calendar does not run properly, please change your Java Settings to prefer Java 5:
- Open up the Java Preferences located in /applications/utilities/java
- Under the "Java Runtime Settings", ensure that Java/J2SE 5.0 is the first item in the list by dragging it to the top.
May 12th, 2008 - Version 1.8.0
Improved Mac Installation - Calgoo Calendar for Mac OS X now includes a drag and drop installer to make it easier to install and update Calgoo Calendar.
Improved Multi-User support - Each user now has their own database, layout and logfile. The new location for these files is in "Documents and Settings/username/Calgoo" for Windows users and "Users/username/Calgoo" for Mac users. To backup your database, copy the "data" folder you find there. Also, this logfile will be the one you send to us should you need support. Additionally, Calgoo Calendar is now installed as "Calgoo Calendar" to your Program Files/Applications instead of "Calgoo." You can delete the old "Calgoo" folder once you have upgraded to a new version of Calgoo Calendar.
KNOWN ISSUES:
Apple iCal - Reminders are not synchronized with Apple iCal due to incompatibilities between Calgoo Calendar reminders and iCal. Additionally, attendees without email addresses are synchronized, but cannot be displayed in Calgoo Calendar. Allday events might shift by one day when displayed in iCal on MacOS 10.5 when using certain timezones. The simultaneous use of other sync products might cause delays.
Changing Accept/Decline Status - Users changing their accept/decline status on Google events that they did not create will see an error during synchronization. It is recommended that users do not modify their attendee status at this time. For more information, please see the bug report on Google.
Vista and Outlook - Due to the security in Vista, Calendar cannot establish a connection to Outlook for synchronization or creating a new calendar unless both Calendar and Outlook are running with the same permissions. A fix for users can be found here.
30 Boxes Synchronization - 30 Boxes does not support all of the elements of an event that Calgoo Calendar supports. Only event summaries, descriptions, time, tags, and location can be synchronized. Calendar Cleanup Utility - Existing calendars can be manually "cleaned up" using the new calendar cleanup utility. This utility allows you to delete duplicate events without having to do it manually.
Multi-user support - Calgoo Calendar has improved its multi-user support by moving the database. Each user will now have their own database. In Windows, this database will be located in My Documents->Calgoo. In Mac OS X, the database is located in the user's home directory /Users/username/Calgoo. No action is required by users upgrading to this version.

Invitation-Duplication Resolution - For users who use Outlook 2007 to access their Gmail and Google Calendar, we have introduced improved duplication fixes. Now invitations received via Gmail in Outlook 2007 which are automatically added to your Outlook calendar will no longer duplicate when synchronizing with your Google calendar.
Multi-Calendar Synchronization - We have added the ability to synchronize more than 2 calendars together as needed. This feature is available through the custom calendar option of the add calendar wizard or by adding an additional source to an existing calendar.
Improved Calendar Tree - The calendar tree is now a calendar list. Instead of a tree structure, we have simplified the process of organizing calendars by allowing you to add them to one or more folders. Filters no longer need to be copy and pasted to each calendar in order to apply them. Simply click on the filter you want and the events being currently viewed will be filtered.
Enhanced shortcut keys - We have changed our shortcut keys to make it easier for users to switch between the calendar views needed the most. To see a list of shortcut keys for changing your views, from the month view to the agenda view, for instance, see the shortcuts available under the "View" menu. We have removed the shortcut key, Ctrl+w, for adding new calendars.
Improved Calendar Details - We have modified the calendar details dialog to make it easier to see which calendars are synchronizing, which ones are having problems synchronizing, and which calendars are shared.
Synchronization Improvements - We have been able to improve synchronization between Outlook and Google, especially resolving many issues with events that have attendees and recurring events.
iCal Support - Synchronization speed with .ics files has been improved. In addition, we have increased our support for reading and writing of .ics files in Calendar. Our exported .ics files are more compatible with Outlook, Vista calendar, and Sunbird. We have also increased the amount of information we import when reading files generated by other calendar applications.
KNOWN ISSUES:
Vista and Outlook - Due to the security in Vista, Calendar cannot establish a connection to Outlook for synchronization or creating a new calendar unless both Calendar and Outlook are running with the same permissions. A fix for users can be found here.
No Multiple Reminders - Google Calendar supports multiple reminders at different interval, but Calgoo does not. When synchronizing events from Google, if the event contains more than one reminder, only the first one is synchronized.
Different handling of recurring events - For a recurring event with a start date being a Monday but set to occur every Tuesday, Google Calendar counts the first Monday as one of the occurrences, but Outlook Calendar does not. Calgoo Calendar currently follows the behaviour in Google Calendar.
Does not work in Windows Server 2003 - Calgoo currently does not support Windows Server 2003.
Syncing back causes Attendees' events duplication - By synchronizing calendar Google1 with Outlook1, and then synchronizing Outlook1 with Google2, will cause your events' attendees to be invited again, thus duplicating the event in their Google Calendar. This is due to a design incompatibility with Google Calendar. When you added Google2, the original events from Google1 will automatically invite their attendees again. To prevent your attendees from seeing these duplicated events, you may ask them to switch off this option in Google Calendar.
Attendees cannot modify recurring event - In Outlook Calendar, changes made to an existing recurring event in which you are an attendee, but not the author, will not synchronize properly to Google Calendar. This does not affect any other events. This is due to a server side defect on Google Calendar.
Modifications during synchronization are not recognized - Event changes in the middle of synchronization are not recognized.
Outlook Security Popup - You may receive a popup from Outlook when attempting to connect or synchronize with Outlook Calendar. Should this happen, change the access time to the maximum allowed (10 minutes) and choose "Allow Access." Not doing so will prevent Calgoo Calendar from accessing your Outlook Calendar information.
Duplicate Calendar Names - Having two calendars with the same name may cause several issues in Calgoo Calendar. You may not be able to save events to the proper calendar, even when editing an existing event. Should you encounter this issue, please rename your calendars such that all calendars have a different name. To rename your calendar, right-click on the calendar and choose "open." Rename your calendar and save.

Accepting invitation causes duplication - Accepting a Google email invitation in Outlook Email via Outlook's "Accept" button while also accepting via Google's "Yes I'm going" will add the event to both your Outlook and Google Calendar. If you synchronize these calendars, the event will appear duplicated. This is due to a design incompatibility between Google and Outlook.
November 8th, 2007 - Version 1.2.1

KNOWN ISSUES:
Does not work in Windows Server 2003 - Calgoo currently does not support Windows Server 2003.
Accepting invitation causes duplication - Accepting a Google email invitation in Outlook Email via Outlook's "Accept" button while also accepting via Google's "Yes I'm going" will add the event to both your Outlook and Google Calendar. This does not affect any other events. This is due to a server side defect on Google Calendar.
Modifications during synchronization are not recognized - Event changes in the middle of synchronization are not recognized.
Cannot sync more than 5000 events per calendar at a time - If your calendar contains more than 5000 events, the first time you synchronize, you will only get the first 5000. The next time you synchronize, you will receive the next 5000, and so forth. This is due to a limitation on Google Calendar.
Cannot manually add attendee from Outlook 2003 - In an existing Outlook event which already synchronizes with Calgoo, new attendees added by typing manually the notation "Attendee Name <attendee@email.com>" are ignored by Calgoo. You may only add a new attendee by the email address only, or by adding an existing Outlook contact. This only affects Outlook 2003.
November 2nd, 2007 - Version 1.2.0
Number of calendars - The free version of Calgoo Calendar now offers up to three calendars. Upgrading to Calgoo Pro will give you an unlimited number of calendars.

Cannot sync more than 5000 events per calendar at a time - If your calendar contains more than 5000 events, the first time you synchronize, you will only get the first 5000. The next time you synchronize, you will receive the next 5000, and so forth. This is due to a limitation on Google Calendar.
October 25, 2007 - Version 1.1.1
Patched Google Sync Conflict - Calendar synchronization with Google Calendar stopped working due to a server side change on Google Calendar. This patch addresses the change. Calgoo Calendar will now synchronize properly with Google Calendar.
KNOWN ISSUES:
Deleting occurrences in a recurring event - A third-party issue: Google does not always reflect the proper changes made when deleting an occurrence within a series of recurring events.
Reminders - If a Google calendar does not have a default reminder, Calgoo's reminders for that calendar will be mistakenly turned off when you synchronize. To continue using reminders in Calgoo for your Google calendars, turn on the "reminders" setting in your Google calendar "notification settings" online.
Invitations - Events to which you have been invited, but did not create, cannot be edited in Calgoo due to a limitation of Google. Changes to events via Calgoo, will reset the attendee status of all invited guests to "hasn't responded". This problem is being examined by Google at this time.
Address Details - When changing the Home / Business / Other field of a contact's address details, some of the contact's phone fields will disappear from view. No information is lost, just re-open the contact dialog to see the fields again.
September 12th, 2007 - Version 1.1.0
Invitation Accept / Decline - You are now able to accept and decline invitations to events on your Google calendars as well as see your status and the status of other attendees.
Calgoo Library Integration - Calgoo Calendar is now integrated with Calgoo Library to bring you a list of our top featured calendars! This list of calendars is dynamically updated based on their ranking on Calgoo Library, as rated by our users.
Rubber Band Event Creation - You can now create events from the calendar view by clicking on the start time, dragging your mouse to the end time, and letting go. A spiffy shortcut!
Calendar Sync Indicator - Calendars updated during the last synchronization are now marked with an asterisk.
Hyperlinks in Event Description - URLs inside your event description are now highlighted as a hyperlink, and you can click to browse them.
Redesigned Dialogs - The event, task, and Calvent dialogs have been redesigned for better usability.
Extended Launch Options - Calgoo now has the option to launch automatically on start up, launch as minimized, and launch from your quick launch list.
August 14th, 2007 - Version 1.0.2
Maintenance Release - We addressed several logging and error handling issues in the backend. There are no new features added in this release.
KNOWN ISSUES:
Changing Single Event into Recurring Event - Due to a limitation in Google Calendar's GData API, existing single events cannot be changed into a
recurring event. You must instead delete the existing event, and recreate a new recurring event. We will have a workaround for this in a future release.
Deleting occurrences in a recurring event - A third-party issue: Google does not always reflect the proper changes made when deleting an occurrence within a series of recurring events.
July 30th, 2007 - Version 1.0.1
Keyboard Shortcuts - You now have quick access to all your calendar views and actions with the new implementation of hot key shortcuts.
Export iCal Format - Calgoo now has the ability to export and save your calendars into iCal format (*.ics) onto your local hard drive.
Same Time Event Creation - An added feature that notifies the user when creating an event during another event occurring at the same time.
Events Occurring in the Past - Users are now notified when the user creates an event occurring in the past.
Offline Message - Calgoo can now detect when the user is working offline and will halt all synchronizing routines until the connection is regained.
Missing Synchronizing Source - When a synchronized calendar no longer has a valid source to synchronize to, Calgoo will give the user the option to convert the calendar into a standalone calendar.
KNOWN ISSUES:
Cannot sync with Outlook in Windows Vista - When synchronizing Outlook contacts, Calgoo will issue an error indicating that the Library "moyocore" was not loaded. This library is a DLL required to access Outlook folders. We are currently working on a workaround on this issue.
Account data still exists after Calgoo is uninstalled - The uninstaller does not remove the user licensing-related information. When the user attempts to reinstall Calgoo, the first run wizard will not restart and Calgoo will bypass the registration process. The present solution is to find the install directory for Calgoo and delete it. The default location for the database is C:\Documents and Settings\current_user\.CalgooCalendarWebstart.
JOC security manager not working for Outlook - Calgoo cannot find the Security Manager dll "secman.dll" and a warning is issued when attempting to synchronize with Outlook.
Changing Single Event into Recurring Event - Due to a limitation in Google Calendar's GData API, existing single events cannot be changed into a recurring event. You must instead delete the existing event, and recreate a new recurring event. We will have a workaround for this in a future release.
Deleting occurrences in a recurring event - A third-party issue: Google does not always reflect the proper changes made when deleting an occurrence within a series of recurring events.
June 27th, 2007 - Version 1.0
Complete Facelift - We have redesigned all the major components of Calgoo, including: Month, Week, Day, and Agenda Views, Setup Wizard, Add Calendar Wizard, Calendar Tree, Mini Calendar, Contacts Management, Icons, Logo, Toolbar, and Menu. The user interface has new colours and icons.
Improved Event Visualization - Aside from redesigning of the four calendar views, we have added usability features such as the day and event summary popups, event status indicator icons, today indicator, and overlapping events.
Improved Calendar Support - Calgoo now synchronizes Outlook, Google and iCal calendars and allows you to synchronize Outlook and Google Calendars via Calgoo. Support for stand-alone Calgoo calendars has also been added.
Outlook Contacts Synchronization - You now can easily import and export entire contact lists from Outlook. Calgoo is able to automatically determine modified contacts to synchronize, and where there are conflicts, prompt you to decide which of the conflicting contacts to keep. Note that Calgoo only allows one unique primary email address.
Smart Contacts Sorting - Calgoo now uses "Quick Contacts" to make an educated guess of which contact you would most likely be interested in interacting with, and sorts your contact list in that manner. Further, Calgoo will automatically merge contacts information from Google, Outlook, as well as existing contacts in Calgoo. This applies to adding attendees as well as Contacts Management.
Printing - Calgoo now has a print feature based on the Agenda View. You can now get a list of your events, customizable based on your Agenda View settings, print it, and bring it on the road! The printout is monochrome printer friendly.
Simplified Find - We have replaced our complicated filtering system with a simplified Find feature, right inside the Calendar View itself. This allows you to see only the events you are interested in, quickly locate them by Summary, Description, Attendees Name or Author Name.
License Management - As we move commercialized parts of the Calgoo product line, we have incorporated license management in Calgoo, making license activation and renewal a painless process. Your license information can be reviewed in Calgoo as well as in your Calgoo account on our website.
New Database Engine - Calgoo has migrated its entire database backbone to Apache Derby DB. The new database engine offers improved scalability, performance, and ease of upgrade to future versions of Calgoo.
Overall performance improvement - Calgoo is now much faster across the board: screen updates, navigation, transactions (query, save, edit, delete), calendar download, synchronization
Calvents - Calgoo now supports the delivery of Calvent messages and allows the user to view, delete and save them to calendars.
Multi-lingual - Calgoo supports calendars in any language and character set.
Portable - You can run Calgoo from any storage device, including CD, USB key and shared hard drive.
KNOWN ISSUES:
Changing Single Event into Recurring Event - Due to a limitation in Google Calendar's GData API, existing single events cannot be changed into a recurring event. You must instead delete the existing event, and recreate a new recurring event. We will have a workaround for this in a future release.
Recurring Exceptions from Google - Due to a limitation in Google Calendar's GData API, if you have a recurring event in Google which contains one or more occurrences and does not follow the standard rule, then this event may not display correctly in Calgoo.
Bulk Contacts Sync - Synchronizing large numbers of contacts between Outlook and Calgoo may take some time or cause Calgoo to become unresponsive.
